Proper Handwashing
- Wet your hands with clean, running water, either warm or cold.
- Apply soap and lather well.
- Rub your hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds.
- Rinse well.
- Dry your hands with a clean towel or air-dry them.
Cleaning Fruits and Vegetables
- Gently rub produce while holding under plain running water. There’s no need to use soap or a produce wash.
- Use a clean vegetable brush to scrub firm produce, such as melons.
- Dry produce with a clean paper towel to reduce bacteria that may be present.
